CoUtuRE: Celebrating Couture for the Cure

I am honored to announce my participation as a selected designer in the San Francisco Design Center’s CoUtuRE: Celebrating Couture for the Cure event this July.
The event benefits The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, San Francisco Bay Area Affiliate, raising money for breast cancer education, treatment and research. This year’s show will […]

Tigresse is participating in the Junior League of San Francisco’s 81st annual Fashion Fundraiser this upcoming weekend by donating two items.
This year’s theme is Postcards from the City, and features a Champagne Lunch & Black-tie Gala Dinner, each with a fashion show by Macy’s. There will be both silent and live auctions and a donation […]

    Podium Store Launch

Tigresse had the opportunity to participate in the launch of Sonya Molodetskaya’s hip new boutique, Podium (Podium translates into runway in Russian), in San Francisco, in December. The launch party was a grand success, with all the who’s-who of SF society turning out.
Tigresse showed our holiday collection of cocktail & eveningwear dresses.

    Carolina Herrera at FGI

The highlight (for me and the two friends with whom I attended) of the Fashion Group International (FGI) Rising Stars Awards Luncheon on January 25 at the New York Hilton was by far getting to meet my long-time idol, Venezuelan-born, NY-based fashion designer Carolina Herrera.
She presented the award for Women’s Apparel, and we scurried after […]

    spring bridal coverage

just wanted to mention coverage in a few recent bridal articles:
7×7 Magazine Feb 2007 Bridal Issue, which covers wedding resources in the San Francisco Bay Area,
Brides Northern California Spring/Summer 2007, which mentions the customized mens neckties, bowties, bridesmaid sashes, and other accessories we create for the wedding party,
Your Wedding Day Magazine Winter 2006/07, […]

    Fashion in Deadwood

Being someone who never watches TV, I shocked myself by actually getting into the HBO series Deadwood (of course viewed from a friend’s DVD, not the actual television).
The last episode I’ve viewed (haven’t yet acquired the third and final season) was Episode 24 of Season 2 - an eventful one to say the least. There […]

Spring/Summer 2008 Trends & Supima Prefab Premium Fabric Show

I attended the brand-new Prefab Supima Premium Fabric Show, January 23 – 25, 2007, at Gotham Hall in NY. All the fabrics were extremely high quality, long-fibre cottons & blends, as well as a large selection of organic cottons and sustainable fibres like bamboo, tencel, etc. Only thing about this show was that most of […]

    she’s like a rainbow

While in NY this past week, I visited two wonderful exhibits at the Museum at FIT (7th Ave at 27th St.), one of which was: She’s Like a Rainbow: Colors in Fashion (November 11, 2006 - May 9, 2007) The exhibit explores the fascinating history and symbolism of colour in fashion, with a significant […]

    my mother’s wedding dress

One of the Christmas presents I received from, fittingly, my mom, is the book My Mother’s Wedding Dress: The Life and Afterlife of Clothes by Justine Picardie. This fascinating collection of essays describes clothing and its meaning associated through history, memories and emotions, as if, the author says “the contents of one’s wardrobe are the […]
