    Sonoma Autumn Wedding

    gown

One of my favorite clients this year, Lisa Y, came to me with her deceased grandmother’s wedding gown hoping that we could incorporate it in some way into the design of her own dress. We were slightly doubtful at first, because the gown had not been properly stored, and was stained a dark yellow colour.

However, I found a magic soak that restored its lace to pristine condition. We integrated the lace into the skirt godets and neckline insert of Lisa’s gown, reinstating and putting a new spin on a very sentimental garment.

    butterflies

The wedding was held at Cline Cellars in Sonoma, beautiful in September. The ceremony was held outdoors in a lovely garden by the water. One fun part of the ceremony was the “release of the butterflies.” Although one of the butterflies did not seem inclined to part - it clinged to a lace godet of Lisa’s dress (ah, even the butterfly has admiration!)

    reception
The reception space was perfectly romantic: the wine cellar with its walls decked floor-to-ceiling with huge barrels of this year’s finest ferment. A perfect space for dining & dancing.
